Project Background

Currently the price of many valuable Chinese material medica has exceeded that of gold. Both the industry and the general public are not necessarily equipped with knowledge to conduct authentication or quality evaluation of these valuable herbs; and systematic studies have not been done in the academic circle either.  This project has short-listed 30 species of valuable Chinese materia medica which are of high sales volume, expensive and easily confused for systematic studies and to develop scientific methodologies /technical guidelines for authentication.

Special Product Features / Technical Excellence

A manuscript entitled “Authentication Methods of Valuable Chinese Materia Medica” will be compiled and a platform for authentication will be set up.  Sample bank of CM, photo images and modern authentication methodologies will be established/compiled.
