WHKJCICM adopts generally-accepted commercial practice on IP management of the R&D projects. In general, the following IP principles would be adopted:

1. For fee-for-service contract research, IPs belong to the commissioning organization
2. For in-house proprietary research, IPs belong to HKJCICM
3. For collaborative research, HKJCICM will negotiate IPs and terms of partnership / commercialisation based on the nature of projects and partners’ contributions of funds and intellects
