HKJCICM Appoints New Executive Director

Hong Kong Jockey Club Institute of Chinese Medicine Ltd (HKJCICM) has appointed Prof. Sarah Hui Siu Chun as the new Executive Director with effect from 11 January 2010. Prof. Hui graduated from Bradford University (UK) with 1st Class Honours in Pharmacology and got her PhD in Neuropharmacology.  She began her career in Chinese medicine since 1991 and was considered a pioneer in initiating and developing Chinese medicine education in tertiary institutes in Hong Kong.  She was the Deputy Director of the School of Chinese Medicine, The University of Hong Kong and was the founder and President of the Hong Kong Academy of Chinese Medicine prior to joining HKJCICM.  Prof. Hui was a Director of the HKJCICM Board from 2005 to July 2009.  She was also appointed by the HKSAR government to serve in different councils and committees including Subcommittee on TCM Practitioners of the Preparatory Committee on Chinese Medicine, Preparatory Committee on Chinese Medicine, Chinese Medicine Council, Air Pollution & Waste Disposal Appeal Board (Environment & Food Bureau), Taskforce on Employees' Compensation Ordinance in relation to the Recognition of Medical Treatment, Examination and Certification Given by Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner (Labour Department), and Advisor of Chinese Medicine Development (Hong Kong Hospital Authority). 

With sophisticated professional background and rich experience in the Chinese medicine industry, Prof. Hui will lead the team at HKJCICM towards a new phase of development and contribute to the advancement of the industry.
