HKJCICM Launched CM Chemical Markers
Hong Kong Jockey Club Institute of Chinese Medicine (“HKJCICM”) announced at its Industry Forum “Technical Development of CM Chemical Markers” on 23 November 2007 the launch of 28 high-quality chemicals markers to help promote quality control and assessment of Chinese Medicine (CM).
The development of CM Chemical markers is one of the major projects initiated by HKJCICM in response to the overwhelming needs from the CM industry. The project is undertaken by the Chinese Medicine Laboratory of HKJCICM. All the chemicals markers have undergone chemical analysis and purity assessment. Each chemical marker will be accompanied by a certificate of analysis and verified by TLC, HPLC, NMR and LCMS. Product information and ordering procedures are listed in HKJCICM website http://www.hkjcicm.org/chemical_marker/.
At the Industry Forum, Dr. Kevin Xu, Deputy Director of HKJCICM, introduced the science and art of developing CM chemical markers. The Forum was well attended by various CM sectors including government agencies, testing laboratories, CM industry and research institutes.
HKJCICM targets to launch by phase another 30 CM chemicals starting from the first quarter of 2008, with further potential expansion subject to market demand and developments. For chemical markers not listed in the catalogue, customers are welcome to contact business@hkjcicm.org for quotations.
This project marks the commitment of HKJCICM over the development and application of research tools for enhancing safety and quality assessment of CMs. We welcome your feedbacks for improvement. |
