香港理工大學陳新滋院士介紹其『防治心血管疾病的中藥產品研究與開發』的
項目成果

The State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) of China has approved the initiation of clinical research in the mainland on a CM formulation with enhanced bioavailability. It is the first SFDA-approved Clinical Trial License obtained by a Hong Kong-based research institute for CM new drug development. Other CM-based products under development will also be introduced.

中國國家食品藥品監督管理局已經對本項目完成技術審批並批准其進行臨床
研究，這是首個香港研發機構獲取該局批准的中藥新藥臨床研究批文。屇時亦
會介紹與本項目相關的中藥產品進展。

中文大學沈祖堯教授及浸會大學卞兆祥教授共同介紹『中草藥治療腸易
激綜合症之基礎及臨床研究』的項目成果

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a very common disorder but lacking an effective remedy in conventional medicine. A CM formula has been tested in double-blind placebo-controlled trial and showed promising effects. Besides subjective improvement experienced by patients, a change in brain activation using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) technique has been demonstrated.

腸易激綜合症是一種常見腸功能失調，發病率高但缺乏有效的醫藥
治療。一種中藥配方在使用雙盲安慰劑對照臨床研究後證實有效。除
了腸易激綜合症病人在服用後自我評估中表示配方的有效性，核磁共
振造影及安慰劑的臨床研究亦顯示配方能令病人的腦細胞活動情況
有改變，從而顯示該中藥配方對治療腸易激綜合症的初步有效性。

Professor Chan worked in Corporate Research Laboratories, Monsanto Company, U. S. A. as Monsanto Fellow. He was a Visiting Expert/Professor of National Taiwan University/National Chung Hsing University. He was elected as Member of Chinese Academy of Science in 2001.

陳新滋教授現任香港理工大學應用科學及紡織學院院長，早年任職美國孟山都公司
高級研究專家及曾擔任台灣大學及中興大學任訪問教授以及香港理工大學應用生物
及化學科技學系系主任及講座教授。2001年獲得中科院院士的榮銜。

香港中文大學醫學院副院長兼內科及藥物治療學系系主任

Prof. Sung's research interests include gastrointestinal bleeding, H. pylori and peptic ulcer and gastric cancer, and viral hepatitis B. His study on viral genomics and carcinogenesis was awarded funding by the Innovation and Technology Fund and the Area of Excellence of the University Grants Committee. In 2003, Prof. Sung led his research team to embark on a series of studies on the clinical and epidemiological aspects of the SARS corona virus. In 2003, he won Time Magazine's Asian Hero Award for his contributions to the combat against SARS.

沈祖堯教授是腸胃科權威，他的研究領域包括胃腸出血、幽門螺旋菌、消化性潰瘍
和胃癌，以及乙型肝炎。他對病毒性基因組及致癌物質的研究更獲創新及科技基金
與大學資助委員會卓越學科領域的資助。在二零零三年，沈教授帶領的醫療隊伍，
展開了一系列SARS冠狀病毒臨床及流行病學的研究。他對抗非典型肺炎的貢獻
並獲《時代》雜誌稱許為亞洲英雄。

Prof. Bian engaged in clinical practice and research in Internal Medicine. His research focuses mainly in the experimental and clinical treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel diseases, chronic diarrhea, habitual constipation, stubborn insomnia and tumors in digestive tract with Chinese herbs.

卞兆祥教授長期從事中醫藥治療腸易激綜合症（IBS）的基礎與臨床研究。臨床研究
方面重點在於探討中藥復方治療功能性胃腸道疾病、潰瘍性結腸炎、急性腸胃炎、
長期排便困難、長期失眠及消化系統癌症等的中草藥臨床研究。
