Dr. Xu Hong Xi has over twenty years of experience in the field of Chinese medicine research and industrial application. He obtained his Ph.D degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the National Research Institute for Traditional Sino-Japanese Medicines, Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University in Japan in 1994. Dr. Xu possesses extensive research experience on Natural Products and Chinese medicines in major institutes in Shanghai, Japan, Singapore, Canada and Hong Kong . He has published more than 90 peer-reviewed scientific articles on Chinese medicines. He holds two US and PCT patents relating to the application of Chinese medicines to infectious diseases.

Formerly he was the Deputy General Manager at Hutchison Whampo ( China ) Ltd, and Board of Director at Shanghai Hutchison Pharmaceuticals Ltd,. He was also the Consultant of Chamber of Chinese Herbal Medicines of Canada.

Dr. Xu is currently working for HKJCICM as a Deputy Director. He is also Founder, and Board of Director of Modern Chinese Medicine International Association, Visiting Professor of Shanghai University of TCM, Editors of Modern Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines, Journal of Asian-Pacific Traditional Medicine and Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs.

Andrew Cheng graduated from the University of Hong Kong with BSc (1st Class Honours) degree in Chemistry and MPhil degree in Pharmacology. Besides, he also received a postgraduate certificate in Chinese Medicine from HKU SPACE and a certificate on GMP and documentation course organized by State Food and Drug Administration Training Center . Before joining the institute, he worked for a listed company in Hong Kong as a manager in market research, project and financial analysis for the acquisition process; and as an assistant supervisor in a consultant company for product development of several Chinese medicine products that had been launched in Hong Kong .

Pandora graduated from the City University of Hong Kong with a Master degree in Language and Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with first class honours in Translation and Interpretation. Before joining the Institute, Pandora rendered service in several public organisations including the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation, Occupational Safety and Health Council, Hong Kong Sports Development Board, and the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, responsible for a variety of duties in the aspects of administration, corporate affairs, external relations and publicity.
