They must have had a little bit of rain in the desert? 2014 begins the 4th season of racing at Meydan and today is the first time I can ever remember the turf course at Meydan being rated as anything other than firm, good to firm, or good, but today it's rated good to soft.

There's gonna be a few changes to the stakes schedule at the upcoming Dubai World Cup Carnival in 2014. To being, there will be 2 new races added to the schedule that will run for the first time in 2014: The newly added "Dubawi Stakes" to be ran over 1200 meters on tapeta will run on the same card as the UAE 2000 & 1000 Guineas Trial. Also newly added for the 2014 stakes schedule will be the listed "Dubai Millennium Stakes" to be ran over 2000 meters on turf on the same card with the G2 Balanchine. A couple of changes to existing stakes: the former Al Rashidiya Trial which has always been a conditions race in past years will now become the "Singspiel Stakes", and it's also been upgraded to listed status for the 2014 Carnival. The final change will be in the G2 Al Fahidi Fort, previously always ran at 1600 meters(8f) on turf will now be ran at 1400 meters(7f) on turf beginning in 2014. With the 2014 Dubai Carnival rapidly approaching, I thought I'd pass this info on to those fans who follow the Carnival from go to woe.

Other notables are Bold Silvano, Twice Over, J J The Jet Plane, Presvis, Debussy, Gitano Hernando, Poet's Voice, and the list goes on. Bettors don't shy away from this card, the payouts are often inflated.
